ERFURT_ 1,700 new settlements and expansion investments by investors and companies accompanied, 1,600 apartments built at 40 locations, 4,000 building plots developed, over 3,000 hectares of industrial areas developed, almost 50 different trade fair appearances organized at home and abroad – these are excerpts from the activity report of LEG Thüringen looking back at the now three decades during which the company has been active on behalf of the state government. And right on time for the company anniversary, LEG is launching its newly designed website: With modern structuring and user-friendly tools, it helps customers and partners quickly find offers and content that interest them. In addition to the services and useful information, there is lots of exciting visual and audio information about 30 years of state development as well as outlooks on future challenges and solutions at the anniversary celebration – always with a view to boosting growth, prosperity, and quality of life in the Free State. "On its anniversary, LEG can truly look back on countless projects in the service of the Free State for Thuringia's citizens and businesses," emphasizes Economics Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee. "Founded with just one female employee, the state company is today a competent partner in all matters of economic development and real estate management for all those who invest, work, and live in Thuringia. Over its 30 years of existence, it has accompanied numerous milestones in site development, be it the development of Thuringia's largest industrial area, the 'Erfurt Cross', and the settlement of large companies there, urban development in Zeulenroda-Triebes, or delegation and business trips to important trading regions of Thuringia. I thank the managing directors Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche as well as the entire team for this many years of successful work."

Founded in May 1992, LEG and its subsidiaries have since been active in all parts of the country for citizens, businesses, municipal officials, home builders, and skilled workers. Economic development, site development, real estate management, as well as urban and regional development are the core tasks that have been carried out since the 1990s. Over the years, support in the fields of internationalization, digitalization, climate protection and GreenTech, skilled worker recruitment, as well as technology and cluster management has been added. "Constant adaptation to new challenges is part of our problem-solving competence," say Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche. "We are already working on a wide range of future topics, from site development and settlement support under modern conditions, through internationalization, cluster management and skilled worker recruitment for a Thuringian economy in turbulent times, to complex tasks of urban and regional development and real estate management – this concerns forward-looking concepts such as smart cities as well as the important enhancement of rural areas, new forms of regional cooperation as well as challenges of sustainable construction."
In line with the expanded tasks and new future concerns, the new LEG website offers further optimized content and structures. Central online tools are available for direct access – this includes, for example, popular applications such as the Thuringian Solar Calculator as well as access to the industrial and Commercial Property Database with current, detailed information about companies and locations in all parts of the state. In total, there are 26 targeted offerings that citizens, company managers, municipal actors, and public institutions can use. LEG also presents itself to skilled workers, trainees, and interns as a modern employer. To get to know LEG better, a visit to the anniversary page is definitely worthwhile: clips show 30 formative projects from 30 years with (moving) images and texts, “Success Stories” outline milestones in the company's development, employees from various departments provide insights into their work; figures and facts are included as well as a “LEG Playlist” with musical “earworms” from 30 years of LEG and music history. Specifically, LEG develops and markets industrial and commercial sites, operates Thuringia marketing, attracts investors worldwide, and supports companies wishing to establish themselves with a comprehensive range of services. It assists existing companies as well as newly arrived companies with expansion projects; it supports them in their internationalization, in boosting their export business, and in developing technological potential. As a real estate manager, LEG develops, manages, and markets buildings and building land of various types. In addition, as a recognized redevelopment agency, it supports cities and municipalities in upgrading city centers and in projects of structural policy significance. It is a strong partner for mayors, district administrators, and regional stakeholders when it comes to strengthening cooperation at the municipal level.
With its subsidiary Digitalagentur Thüringen, it is responsible for broadband expansion, drives the implementation of the Thuringian Digital Strategy forward, and initiates digital initiatives and projects. Its Thuringian Agency For Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF) makes important contributions to meeting the demand for skilled workers in the Thuringian economy. The compatibility of work and family life is a top priority at LEG – as evidenced by, among other things, its own company daycare center in the Erfurt district of Brühl and the activities within the framework of the “LEG-Sommerschule“. In addition, its subsidiary “Thüringer Energie- und GreenTech-Agentur“ (ThEGA) acts in the Free State as the central competence, consulting, and information platform on the topics of renewable energies, GreenTech, sustainable mobility, and energy and resource efficiency.
