At least two million buildings were destroyed in Syria by the war – landfill capacities are limited and the CO2 emissions from using new building materials would be considerable. Professor Dr. Aref al-Swaidani, a recognized expert in the field of building material recycling, sees opportunities for Syria and its sustainable reconstruction in the networking of industry and in the exchange of knowledge about circular economy, recycling plants, and the processing of secondary raw materials.
The goal of this workshop is to promote exchange and networking between science and industry in order to develop effective ecological, practical, and above all economic approaches for the sustainable reconstruction of Syria.
Register here for the workshop: Recycling and Reconstruction: Construction Methods and Materials for Syria after the War. Registration possible until: 22.04.2025.
