At least two million buildings have been destroyed by the war in Syria – landfill capacity is limited, and the CO2 emissions from using new building materials would be considerable. Professor Dr. Aref al-Swaidani, a renowned expert in the field of construction material recycling, sees the opportunities for Syria and its sustainable reconstruction in networking within the industry and in the exchange of knowledge about the circular economy, recycling plants, and the processing of secondary raw materials.
The aim of this workshop is to promote exchange and networking between science and business in order to develop effective ecological, practical and, above all, economic approaches for the sustainable reconstruction of Syria.
Register for the workshop here: Recycling and reconstruction: Building methods and materials for post-war SyriaRegistration possible until: April 22, 2025!
