India Day Thuringia

India is not only the most populous country in the world, but also one of the fastest growing economies. With an impressive economic growth of 6.8% in 2024 and as the third largest economy in terms of purchasing power parity, diverse business opportunities are opening up for Thuringian companies, whether as an attractive sales market or as an alternative for diversifying global supply chains. On November 7, we cordially invite you from 12:00 PM to the "India Day Thuringia", which takes place in cooperation with the Technische Universität Ilmenau. The event is the ideal platform to learn about current trends as well as opportunities and challenges on the subcontinent and to discuss the many possibilities for cooperation with India in the areas of business, science and research. Look forward to a diverse programme with renowned experts, such as the keynote by Walter J. Lindner, former German ambassador to India, on the topic “The old West and the new South. What we should learn from India before it’s too late.” (pending). This exciting perspective on the geopolitical and economic significance of India will set the stage for the subsequent panel discussion on the topic: “India, the new China?” with experts and corporate representatives. In the parallel workshops in the afternoon everything revolves around successful market entry and business development in India, tax and legal frameworks as well as intercultural understanding in business practice. In addition, the cooperation opportunities in the field of science and research between Thuringia and Indian institutions will be examined and discussed in detail. In the new format “Indian Business Idol” selected Indian students will present innovative ideas to improve business relations between Thuringian companies and India. Stay tuned .
