Dr. Susann Lüdtke has been researching technical standardization, particularly in China, since 2013. Her research focuses on the challenges industry faces in standardization work and the risks arising from deviations in technical standards. In 2020, she published "The Secret of Lobbying in China," the result of extensive fieldwork in China. Her book demonstrates that industry plays a significant role in the development of energy efficiency standards for buildings. Other research interests include patent-based innovation strategies, business-government relations, green tech, and sustainability in China and other countries. Dr. Lüdtke completed her doctorate in economics at the Chair of China Business and Economics at the University of Würzburg in 2017. After working as a consultant in the automotive industry, Lüdtke has been a consultant for patent analysis and patent management at a software company in North Rhine-Westphalia since 2018. As an associate researcher at the University of Würzburg, she conducts commissioned studies on technical standardization, quality infrastructure, and corporate strategies.
