The "Thuringia Date," a stand event on the evening of September 6th, offers a great opportunity for in-depth exchange and getting to know one another. Registration is possible at [website address] https://www.leg-thueringen.de/iaa/
The following exhibitors are represented at the joint stand this year:
- automotive thüringen e. V.
- IBU-tec advanced materials AG (Weimar)
- LION Smart Production GmbH (Hildburghausen)
- Sedlmayer GmbH (Triptis)
- TALLAG Saalfeld GmbH (Saalfeld)
- Technik in Form Blechbearbeitung GmbH (Heilbad Heiligenstadt)
- Thuringian Agency for Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF)
The booth will showcase exciting solutions from the automotive supply industry, ranging from innovative battery systems and developments in materials research to intelligent forming and joining applications for lightweight automotive construction. ThAFF's participation acknowledges that, in addition to technological challenges, the shortage of skilled workers is also a significant issue for the entire sector.
background
The International Motor Show, abbreviated IAA, has been held with a new concept since 2021. While the IAA Passenger Cars, previously held in Frankfurt, focused primarily on traditional automotive manufacturing, the revamped IAA in Munich centers on a wide range of mobility options – emphasizing sustainability on the one hand and new, interconnected solutions on the other. This includes combining various modes of transport (car, public transport, rail) and implementing new user models (park and ride, car sharing, on-demand buses). Accordingly, software developers, IT service providers, and urban planners are among the exhibitors at the Munich trade fair. The exhibition grounds, which also house the Thuringian joint stand, are open to business customers (business-to-business). Here, visitors can test various modes of transport, such as cars, e-scooters, and cargo bikes, on test tracks and courses. In the city center, there is also a wide range of offerings for the general public (business-to-consumer).
Participation in the IAA is very relevant for Thuringia, as the automotive industry alone, according to the industry cluster automotive thüringen (at), is one of the most important economic sectors in Thuringia with more than 12,000 employees and a turnover of almost 3.7 billion euros.
