At the heart of ZEISS's applications is an ultra-thin, transparent film on which ultra-high-precision optics are mounted in a very small space. This enables the use of holography solutions in areas of life and technology where previously, space constraints, cost, and weight made this impossible. Furthermore, a new ZEISS replication technology allows a master hologram to be reproduced fully automatically in large quantities, making hologram production possible on an industrial scale for the first time.
New applications include future car windshields displaying information that drivers can see without taking their eyes off the road. Holographic applications on side and rear windows also support digital communication between cars and other vehicles – a crucial step towards autonomous driving. In the residential sector – think smart home – ZEISS technology enables entirely new forms of interior lighting through holographic integration elements in window panes. As demonstrated at CES in Las Vegas, the new ZEISS technology is revolutionizing living spaces! (hw)
