ERFURT – Attractive job and career opportunities in Thuringia will be presented at the "academix meets comeback" job and Career fair on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the COMCENTER Brühl (Erfurt). As in the previous two years, the Thuringian Agency for Skilled Workers (ThAFF) is combining its two successful fairs, academix and comeback. Young people at universities and colleges, as well as young professionals, are invited to attend. These young professionals are looking to enter the workforce through regular employment, vocational training, or internships. The fair also targets commuters and potential returnees – skilled workers who are currently not working in Thuringia but feel a connection to the region and would like to work there again. Around 60 employers from a wide range of industries will be present, showcasing job opportunities and available for networking and discussions. Starting at 10:00 am, Thuringia's Minister of Labor Katharina Schenk and LEG Managing Director Sabine Wosche will tour the trade fair and talk to the exhibitors.
Thuringia's Minister of Labor, Katharina Schenk, emphasizes: "Attracting and retaining skilled workers in Thuringia is a key task for the future – for companies, for regions, for our entire state. Events like this trade fair create concrete spaces for encounters where career opportunities arise. They are a key to making Thuringia economically strong, a great place to live, and future-proof."
As in previous years, the trade fair will no longer take place on a weekday, but on a Saturday – weekends are a time when commuters and potential returnees are more likely to be visiting their hometowns. "As in 2024, when the new date proved successful, we are holding the fair concurrently with the popular Krämerbrückenfest in Erfurt, making it easy to combine attending our fair with a visit to the city festival," says Sabine Wosche. "Our event venue, COMCENTER Brühl, also offers ideal conditions for all visitors to learn about the diverse range of employer opportunities and to engage in in-depth discussions, all in one place."
Among the companies presenting are diverse employers such as Analytik Jena GmbH & Co. KG, the Erfurt City Administration, IBYKUS AG, Siemens Energy, the CiS Research Institute for Microsensors GmbH, N3 Overhaul Services GmbH & Co. KG, PDV GmbH, and TEAG Thüringer Energie AG. The Thuringian Ministry of Education, Science and Culture will be present with its teacher recruitment campaign. The organizer, LEG, and its subsidiary, the Thuringian Energy and GreenTech Agency (ThEGA), will also be represented as employers. All exhibitors are based in the Free State of Thuringia and will exclusively present job opportunities within the state. Visitors can expect numerous job offers and will also benefit from a varied supporting program. For example, those interested can receive professional feedback on their application materials in a portfolio review; free professional headshots for job applications will be available; and presentations will provide participants with information and tips on job searching, applications, and starting their careers.
Background:
The forerunners of the “Thuringian Job and Career Fair” are academix and comeback: the former, since its premiere in 2011, has been aimed at young people from schools, universities and the first years of their careers, while the latter, since 2013, has invited commuters and returnees to make Contact with local employers in order to enable them to find employment in their home country.
