Why Harry Kane is moving to Thuringia during the European Championship

When the European Football Championship kicks off in Germany shortly, Thuringia will also be well involved. At the end of May, the German national team, led by head coach Julian Nagelsmann, will prepare for the tournament for a week at the 5-star "Spa&GolfResort Weimarer Land" hotel, located south of the state capital, Erfurt. Then, for the duration of the tournament in June, the English national team, the "Three Lions," including striker Harry Kane, will be based at the hotel in Blankenhain.

The golf resort, which attracts professional footballers and their delegations, exemplifies the high quality that Thuringia has to offer as a hotel and sports destination. The hotel complex, built and operated by Thuringian entrepreneur Matthias Grafe, boasts all the amenities for the perfect combination of (competitive) sports and a relaxing atmosphere. These include a sports field that meets international standards, a fitness studio, a spa, and three golf courses. An additional sports field and a media center are being developed in the town with support from the state and its development agency, LEG – investments that will boost Blankenhain's appeal to tourists and its urban development. As the European Championship demonstrates, Thuringia is a location with many strengths, and the state is doing much to make it even more attractive to businesses and tourists. (hw)
