Thuringian Foreign Trade Day provides impetus for international business

Event highlights opportunities in the global economy / June 28th at the LOTTO Thüringen House in Oberhof

ERFURT – Increasing competitiveness, optimizing performance, and exploring new avenues for lasting success – these are goals in competitive sports as well as in international business. Against this backdrop, the organizers of the 14th Thuringian Foreign Trade Day (AWT) are inviting participants to Oberhof, a special location renowned for its outstanding sporting activities. The leading event for Thuringian foreign trade will take place in person on Tuesday, June 28, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the LOTTO Thüringen Haus – right next to the bobsleigh track that will host the World Championships in 2023. The organizers are the Thuringian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society (TMWWDG), LEG Thüringen , and the Association of Thuringian Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

The Foreign Trade Day (AWT) begins in the morning with an online warm-up from 10:00 to 12:30. In the afternoon, Thuringia's Minister of Economic Affairs, Wolfgang Tiefensee, will officially open the event in person. He will conduct the opening ceremony together with LEG Managing Director Andreas Krey and Dr. Peter Traut, President of the South Thuringian Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Futurist and marketing expert Tim Cortinovis will deliver a striking keynote address on the topic of "New Paths in International Business – What Will Sales Look Like Tomorrow?" The afternoon will then offer an opportunity to discuss the presented content and to network. In the evening, newly crowned two-time Olympic luge champion Johannes Ludwig will explore inspiring parallels between business and sports in an informal discussion on the topic "What Can Business Learn from Sports?"

This year's AWT (Academy for International Business) offers guidance and inspiration at a time when all entrepreneurs involved in international business face unprecedented challenges, including the pandemic and lockdowns, supply chain problems and price increases, and the war in Ukraine. Under the motto "New Paths in International Business," the AWT provides orientation and valuable input for successful international business. The AWT explores this theme of "New Paths" through three key topics. The first, "New Procurement Channels," focuses on diversifying supplier relationships and analyzing Thuringia's role and the opportunities that arise for companies from the Free State in the current situation. This section provides strategies for actively counteracting supply bottlenecks and simultaneously assuming new roles in the supply chain. A second focus is "New Paths in International Sales and Customer Acquisition," offering numerous insights into effective customer outreach through digital marketing and sales platforms. Within this panel, experts will explain sustainable sales strategies, present current tools, and outline solutions for promoting team acceptance during realignment.
The section on "Country-Specific Distribution Channels" delves into specific world regions. Here, twelve country experts, representatives from chambers of commerce abroad, and LEG international officers are among those present, providing detailed market information and insights into the specifics of distribution in countries such as India, Israel, the USA, China, Vietnam, and Uruguay.

All media representatives are cordially invited to attend the 14th Foreign Trade Day in Oberhof. Detailed information can be found in the program at [website address] www.thueringen-international/awt/
