Led by Minister of Economic Affairs Colette Boos-John, around 40 participants from business, research, and chambers of commerce traveled to Beijing, Ningde, Shanghai, and Changzhou in October. The aim was to deepen economic relations, position Thuringia as an innovation hub, and develop new sales and cooperation opportunities – particularly in optics, sensor technology, mechanical engineering, and energy. Highlights included visits to CATL in Ningde and Baolong Automotive in Shanghai, as well as agreements on cooperation with innovation, technology, and training centers.
In November, a delegation of 40 people, led by State Secretary for Agriculture Marcus Malsch, visited Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) in Vietnam. The focus was on business contacts in agriculture and the food industry, mechanical and plant engineering, and recruiting skilled workers for industry and the social sector. A Career day at the German House in HCMC and participation in the VIETFOOD food fair provided platforms for new collaborations and the recruitment of trainees and nursing staff.
