ERFURT – It's currently the most important platform for the future of the commercial vehicle industry, and Thuringia is there: At IAA Transportation 2024, the world's leading trade fair for mobility, transport, and logistics, six Thuringian exhibitors will be presenting their products and services at a joint stand of the Free State. The fair takes place from Tuesday, September 17, to Sunday, September 22, in Hanover; Thuringia will be located in Hall 13 / C44. On Tuesday, September 17, Thuringia's Minister of Economic Affairs, Wolfgang Tiefensee, will visit the fair and meet with the Thuringian exhibitors at the joint stand. On Wednesday, September 18, Thuringia invites attendees to a stand event starting at 6 p.m., bringing together the Free State's stakeholders with external partners and customers.
“Questions about the future of mobility are among the most important socio-political and economic challenges of our time, and against this backdrop, the automotive industry worldwide, as well as in our state of Thuringia, is undergoing an unprecedented process of change and having to overcome a wide range of tasks,” says LEG Managing Director Andreas Krey. LEG is organizing the joint stand on behalf of the Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs. “Participation in the IAA offers the best opportunity to highlight Thuringian expertise and potential, to establish and expand Contact with partners and customers, and to follow the latest trends in the industry.”
IAA Transportation 2024 takes place every two years, alternating with IAA Mobility in Munich. The former focuses primarily on commercial vehicles, including trucks, tractor units, buses, and special-purpose vehicles, as well as trailers and containers. The topics covered in the coming days are diverse, reflecting the holistic approach the trade fair takes to illuminate the field of mobility. Key areas of interest include commercial vehicles with a wide range of drive systems – such as electric or hydrogen – networked, automated long-haul truck fleets, driverless people movers, and e-cargo bikes. This presents numerous opportunities for Thuringian exhibitors to network and exchange expertise.
The following companies and institutions are represented at the joint stand.
- Automotive Network Transformation Thuringia (ANeTT), Erfurt
- FRAMO GmbH in cooperation with FES GmbH, Löbichau, Zwickau
- automotive thüringen eV, Erfurt
- Sedlmayer GmbH, Triptis
- Nidec GPM GmbH, Merbelsrod
