ERFURT/ILMENAU – “Get connected” – under this motto, the first Industry Innovation Dialogue (IID) will launch on February 15, 2017, at the Technical University of Ilmenau. With this new series of events, the Thuringian Cluster Management (ThCM) team aims to significantly accelerate and improve the exchange between researchers and entrepreneurs in Thuringia in the areas of (basic) research and industrial application. The focus of the first IID will be on micro- and nanotechnology. Interested companies can register free of charge until February 9, 2017.
Thuringia boasts a highly developed research landscape and high-performing companies. However, it sometimes takes too long for research results to translate into marketable products. The first Industry Innovation Dialogue offers a suitable platform where research institutions can present their expertise to local companies, and where companies, in turn, can communicate their specific needs for industry-related research. "With the Industry Innovation Dialogue, we are showcasing Thuringia's proven research expertise and demonstrating the opportunities for promoting cooperation between companies and research institutions," said LEG Managing Director Andreas Krey.
The Thuringian Cluster Management (ThCM) is located at the Thuringian State Development Corporation (LEG Thüringen) and has been operating on behalf of the Free State of Thuringia since 2013. This project, co-financed by the European Union, aims to promote the development of a sustainable cluster structure in Thuringia's strategic growth sectors and industries. Its stated goal is to sustainably secure and strengthen the innovation and competitiveness of the Free State's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
