ERFURT – Europe's leading event for digital healthcare takes place in Berlin at the beginning of April – and Thuringia will be showcasing its strengths in this market segment at a joint stand. The DMEA trade fair, where decision-makers from all areas of healthcare will meet from April 9 to 11, will bring together six companies and research institutions from the Free State of Thuringia. Six companies and research institutions from Thuringia will be presenting their strengths in Hall 3.2, Stand E 108. A highlight and an excellent opportunity for Contact and lively exchange will be the evening event "Thuringia Date" on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. "Demographic trends, digitalization, and rapid medical advancements in many areas are making the digital healthcare industry one of the most dynamic market segments," says Andreas Krey, Managing Director of LEG. "This is our third time at DMEA, which offers ideal opportunities to exchange ideas and network with companies and research institutes from other regions."

LEG is organizing the joint stand on behalf of the Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs. There are many forward-looking topics that Thuringian exhibitors can highlight. For example, they will be presenting software solutions for outpatient medical practices and emergency services, which support customers in digitizing their processes as well as in the areas of data collection, contract management, and quality assurance. New methods for anonymizing health data using digital avatars will also be showcased – state-of-the-art technology thus reconciles the needs of optimal healthcare, including the necessary flow of information, with comprehensive data protection for patients. Another project is developing concepts for telemedicine solutions in which intelligent cameras in the home environment record patients' vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and ensure continuous medical monitoring.

Projects and solutions like these thrive on the collaboration of diverse Thuringian companies and research institutes. Accordingly, many activities are coordinated by the LEG team "Thuringian Cluster Management" (ThCM), which also fulfills the tasks of the Thuringian Innovation Strategy (RIS) office. It was a ThCM workshop series entitled "Digital Health," beginning in 2016, that brought together many Thuringian stakeholders and also initiated the plan to present a joint Thuringian booth at DMEA. DMEA was chosen because it is Europe's central meeting place for digital health – a hub for physicians, hospital and nursing management, and experts from politics, science, and research. Thuringia's first two participations at the trade fair were successful. This year, more than 700 exhibitors and over 350 speakers will be represented at DMEA, demonstrating in a practical way how digital transformation makes highly complex healthcare systems patient-centered, economical, and future-proof. The organizer of DMEA is the German Association for Health IT – bvitg e. V.

The following six exhibitors from the Free State of Thuringia are present at the Thuringian joint stand:

  • Takwa GmbH
  • Zollsoft GmbH
  • Medways e. V.
  • MEYTEC JENA GmbH
  • Jena Municipal Energy Utilities
  • Friedrich Schiller University Jena
