Erfurt – Digital applications are increasingly enriching medicine – examples include the recently introduced electronic patient record (ePA) and the broad field of telemedicine, where patients no longer visit their doctor in person but consult them via video conference. Europe's largest event for this health IT sector will take place in Berlin from tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8, to Thursday, April 10. The DMEA trade fair will provide a platform for presentations and exchange among decision-makers from all areas of healthcare. Thuringia will be there, presenting its strengths at a joint stand in Hall 3.2, Stand E-108. Four companies and research institutions from Thuringia will be showcasing their products and services. A highlight and an excellent opportunity for Contact and lively exchange will be the "Thuringia Date" on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
“Thuringia has a long tradition of strength in this economic and technological sector, and DMEA has become a fixed date in our trade fair calendar,” says LEG Managing Director Sabine Wosche ahead of the fair. She is in Berlin and will open the “Thuringia Date.” “This is our fourth time at DMEA, which is an excellent platform to showcase our strengths and, at the same time, engage in lively exchange with companies and research institutes from other regions.”
LEG is organizing the joint stand on behalf of the Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs. There are many forward-looking topics that Thuringian exhibitors can highlight. For example, they will be showcasing software solutions for outpatient medical practices and emergency services, which support clients in digitizing their processes as well as in the areas of data collection, contract management, and quality assurance. New methods for anonymizing health data using digital avatars will also be presented – using state-of-the-art technology, the needs of optimal healthcare, including the necessary flow of information, are reconciled with comprehensive data protection for patients.
Projects and solutions like these thrive on the collaboration of diverse Thuringian companies and research institutes. Accordingly, many activities are coordinated by the LEG team "Thuringian Cluster Management" (ThCM), which also fulfills the tasks of the Thuringian Innovation Strategy (RIS) office. It was a ThCM workshop series entitled "Digital Health," beginning in 2016, that brought together many Thuringian stakeholders and also initiated the plan to present a joint Thuringian stand at DMEA. DMEA was chosen because it is Europe's central meeting place for digital health – a hub for physicians, hospital and nursing management, and experts from politics, science, and research. Thuringia's first three participations at the trade fair were successful. This year, more than 800 exhibitors and over 300 speakers will be represented at DMEA, demonstrating in a practical way how digital transformation makes highly complex healthcare systems patient-centered, economical, and future-proof. The organizer of DMEA is the German Association for Health IT – bvitg e. V.
The following four exhibitors from the Free State of Thuringia are present at the Thuringian joint stand:
- Medways e. V.
- Skills interactive
- Takwa GmbH
- Zollsoft GmbH
