Planting trees together in the Erfurt Gera floodplain - LEG Summer School e. V. cordially invites families

Action weekend with a diverse supporting program / Invitation to a press and photo opportunity on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m

ERFURT – A harmonious atmosphere in nature, sparkling children's eyes, and the exciting opportunity to do something good for the climate and environment – these were the hallmarks of the first four editions of the LEG Summer School's engaging tree-planting campaign: 2021 in Azmannsdorf, 2022 in Töttelstädt, 2023 in Haßleben, and 2024 in Hochstedt. This community initiative has become a cherished tradition, and this autumn, the motto is once again: Act sustainably and with environmental awareness, learn new things, and make a difference together – all this is offered by the LEG Summer School's large-scale tree-planting campaign! This year, it will take place on Friday and Saturday, November 14th and 15th, in the Auenteich Landscape Park (Erfurt), below the Himmelblau Viet 18 restaurant (Talliner Straße 18). Citizens from the region are cordially invited to plant trees on a green space there with their family, children or grandchildren, and thus contribute, along with many others, to creating more sustainability, climate friendliness and quality of life in one place!

The tree planting campaign, under the motto "We plant for the climate. Your future forest. Our tree planting campaign," is organized by the association "LEG Summer School – Companies Committed to Families e. V." Supporting the initiative are the German Forest Protection Association (SDW) and the Erfurt city administration. Sponsors of the campaign include the Thuringian Development Bank (TAB), the Thuringian Energy and GreenTech Agency GmbH (ThEGA), SECONDRED Newmedia GmbH, Sparkasse Mittelthüringen, the housing cooperative Zukunft eG, and the LEG Summer School e. V.

For the little ones, in addition to planting trees, a supporting program provides entertainment and "aha!" moments: Experts from the SDW (German Forest Protection Association) will be on hand to share fascinating and interesting facts about nature, and all young participants will receive a tree-planting certificate. Furthermore, the Erfurt Hunting Association's information van will once again be present during the event. The association, part of the German Hunting Association's "Learning Place Nature" initiative, will present taxidermied specimens of various native game species and invite children to feel objects in sensory boxes. Erno, the plush mascot of WBG Zukunft (a housing cooperative), will also be there to add to the fun. Refreshments will be available at the "Himmelblau Viet 18" restaurant, located above the planting area.

The area for the November event in Erfurt was selected by experts; a total of 1,200 trees were jointly financed by all partners and can now be planted.
