Over 1000 job openings in Erfurt: ThAFF and the city invite commuters and returnees to a day event

ERFURT – The Thuringian Agency for Skilled Workers (ThAFF), in cooperation with the Erfurt Economic Development Agency, is hosting a Commuter and Returnee Day on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at Peterstraße 5 in Erfurt. It offers a great opportunity for those interested to learn about Career opportunities in Erfurt and to benefit from individual consultations and application portfolio reviews. ThAFF has been a competent partner for skilled worker recruitment and retention in Thuringia for over ten years.

“With over 1,000 job openings listed on the Thuringian job portal, Erfurt is a significant job market for commuters and those returning to the region. The Commuter and Returnee Day offers a wide range of opportunities for everyone looking for new career prospects or wanting to return to their home region,” says Sabine Wosche, Managing Director of LEG, where ThAFF is located. ThAFF’s partner for the event is the Erfurt Economic Development Agency, which emphasizes the importance of the Commuter and Returnee Day for the local economy. “Erfurt offers diverse job opportunities in companies and public authorities. We are delighted that ThAFF is organizing the Commuter and Returnee Day and thus making an important contribution to attracting and retaining skilled workers in our city,” says Erfurt’s Mayor, Andreas Bausewein.

Those interested can still participate in the Commuter and Returnee Day on Saturday, April 22nd, at short notice to receive information and advice. Information about the event can be found on the ThAFF website at [website address missing] www.thaff-thueringen.de/pendlertage

Background:

The Thuringian Agency for Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF) is located within LEG Thüringen and was founded in 2011. Commissioned by the Thuringian Ministry of Labor, its primary goals are twofold: firstly, to help Thuringian companies meet their growing demand for skilled workers, and secondly, to support young people entering the workforce, as well as commuters and potential returnees, in (re)entering the workforce in Thuringia. To this end, ThAFF promotes Thuringia as an employment location, advises its target groups, and informs them about job opportunities in the Free State (for example, through commuter days). With its own company contact fairs – "academix" for young people and "comeback" for commuters and returnees – it connects companies with (future) skilled workers. ThAFF is also actively involved in various networks and supports labor market stakeholders at events. ThAFF is funded by the Free State of Thuringia.
