With a grand opening in April of this year, Nissha Advanced Technologies Europe GmbH has sent a strong signal for the future of the automotive industry in Thuringia: The new hall at its Waltershausen site doubles the company's production area. The Nissha Group is investing more than €20 million in the expansion – supported by approximately €1.8 million in funding from the joint federal and state program "Improvement of Regional Economic Structures" (GRW). In the new production hall, highly functional films for the exterior of electric vehicles will be manufactured. These innovative components integrate electrical wiring, heating elements, sensors, and connectors – making vehicles not only smarter but also more efficient. "This investment is a beacon of hope for the entire automotive supply industry in Thuringia," emphasized Minister of Economic Affairs Colette Boos-John at the opening ceremony. Waltershausen's Mayor Leon Graupner and representatives from the Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce and LEG Thüringen also praised the company's commitment. Nissha Advanced Technologies Europe GmbH, which emerged from Schuster Kunststofftechnik GmbH, currently employs over 230 people. It develops and produces plastic parts using multi-component injection molding and IML technology – some of which are produced under cleanroom conditions. With the new hall, Nissha is not only strengthening its market position but also sustainably supporting Thuringia as a business location.
