New industrial sites are being prepared

An important step forward has been achieved for the Altenburg/Windischleuba industrial area in East Thuringia: On July 3, LEG Managing Director Andreas Krey and Altenburg's Mayor André Neumann signed the development agreement.

LEG is thus taking over the development of the approximately 80-hectare site on the northern outskirts of the city, within commuting distance of the Saxon metropolis of Leipzig. This is a key project for the economic future of the region.

“Especially in challenging times, we must actively shape growth,” said Krey. Neumann added: “This project creates opportunities – for jobs, investments, and higher tax revenues.” The development costs amount to approximately €50 million, largely financed by federal funds. The goal is to offer companies space for establishment and expansion – a strong signal for Altenburg and the surrounding region.
