The new location offers ample space for the large-scale development and production of fiber optic sensors and components "made in Jena." The investment also included the establishment of state-of-the-art facilities – the new site now houses physical and chemical laboratories, offices and meeting rooms, as well as its own fiber drawing tower, with plans to add two more in the future. Around 20 employees now work here under optimal conditions; the company's products are widely used in sectors such as industry, energy, construction, and medical technology. The relocation itself presented significant challenges: sensitive laser and alignment systems had to be packed and unpacked, and production lines in the cleanrooms at both the old and new locations had to be kept running or reconfigured. All of this was accomplished while deliveries to customers worldwide continued uninterrupted. With the move to the new location, the company, which was founded in 2005 as a spin-off from the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technologies (IPHT), can scale up production and continue its growth.
