ERFURT – An industry is becoming even more visible and transparent: At the Medica medical technology trade fair, which begins today (November 15-18 in Düsseldorf), the Thuringian Development Corporation (LEG) and the industry association medways e. V. launched the new business portal Life Sciences Thuringia – LiST. The web-based platform clearly presents around 350 Thuringian stakeholders from the diverse economic and technological sector of life sciences – including companies, research institutions, clinics, networks, and associations. Life sciences encompasses fields as varied as medical technology, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Through three main access points (selection by product, industry, and value chain), 17 categories, and 79 subcategories, interested parties can easily and quickly gain an overview and find their specific contacts. The website will be accessible from November 15 at [website address missing in original text] www.lifesciences-thueringen.de

“The data foundation for the new platform is our in-house business and technology database (UTD),” explained LEG Managing Director Andreas Krey at the launch. “We are drawing on proven and constantly updated tools that we maintain and actively use as part of our diverse tasks in economic development and technology and cluster management. With LiST, we offer a structured market overview; a heterogeneous, multifaceted, and highly dynamic economic and technology sector becomes more tangible and transparent for all partners and customers!” LEG structured and designed the portal together with medways e. V. “LiST offers companies and industry stakeholders the opportunity to gain greater visibility for their expertise and products,” said Dr. Eike Dazert, Managing Director of medways e. V. “It will be continuously expanded and can support networking along the value chain. Through intuitive access and active promotion of the portal at trade fairs and events, we also aim to reach interested partners outside of Thuringia and actively support the initiation of new collaborations.”

Medways e.V. is the Thuringian industry association for medical technology and biotechnology, covering large parts of the life sciences sector through its cluster activities. The partner for the specific technical implementation was dreistromland AG, with its branch in Jena. The platform offers specialized search functions, selection options, and links for researching potential suppliers, customers, and cooperation partners; an integrated map view allows for clear spatial orientation. For users, LiST provides location marketing for the industry, facilitates the identification of suppliers and service providers, and offers access to research and development. Listed companies and institutes can present contact persons, addresses, expertise, product and service profiles, and certifications. "We are not aware of any other portal in Germany with this wealth of information on the life sciences sector," concludes Andreas Krey. "In the future, medways e.V. and we will ensure the continuous development and adaptation of the portal to make a lasting contribution to the future viability and competitiveness of the Thuringian industry."
