The long-established company is investing around 30 million euros in modern buildings, intelligent conveyor technology, and highly automated warehouse solutions. The aim is to secure the long-term global supply of medical supplies.
The ceremony was attended by CEO Rainer Berthan, Chief Technology Officer Katharina Dietrich, and Head of Logistics Julian Musiol, as well as Thuringia's Minister of Economic Affairs, Colette Boos-John, the District Administrator of the Greiz district, and the mayors of Zeulenroda and Weißendorf. "Our investments here are a clear sign of confidence – in the location and, above all, in our employees," Berthan emphasized.
The expansion will take place in two construction phases: First, a two-part new building will be constructed behind the existing warehouse; subsequently, the old and new buildings will be connected, and the existing logistics will be reorganized. The centerpiece is a new shuttle warehouse with space for over 45,000 containers, which will be moved by more than 100 automated vehicles. This will be complemented by a 1,200-square-meter pre-zone building.
Completion is planned for early summer 2029 – while operations continue.
