A green urban redevelopment project is being created on approximately 15 hectares of core land in the three green spaces of Augarten, Tüffers Garten, and Lunapark, featuring 1,500 events, show gardens, playgrounds, sports facilities, and a "green classroom." The small river "Ohne" is being renaturalized, new residential structures are being built in the "garden city," and 800 garage spaces have been cleared – visible signs of sustainable urban development.
A highlight is the multimedia experience centered around the archaeological deserted settlement of Kirrode, funded by EU LEADER grants. In addition, a church pavilion is being built with the motto "Close to Earth – High in the Sky" – a place of peace and community in a green setting.
The 2026 State Garden Show will not only offer nature and cultural experiences, but also promote sustainable urban development and strengthen regional identity.
