ERFURT – Especially these days, the Bummi department store, run by the AWO Alten-, Jugend- und Sozialhilfe (AJS) gGmbH (Workers' Welfare Association for the Elderly, Youth and Social Welfare), is enjoying high demand. Parents with low incomes shop here on Thomasstrasse in Erfurt, buying toys, clothes, and other gifts for their little ones for the most wonderful time of the year. For many, this is the only way to surprise their loved ones with a nice present under the Christmas tree. The employees of LEG Thüringen 's state-owned development agency) are aware of this and have once again collected donations this year: Numerous moving boxes full of games, puzzles, dolls, tricycles, car seats, art supplies, clothes, strollers, school bags, books, and educational computers – both new and used – were gathered during the donation drive.
“We are delighted that our employees participate so enthusiastically in our campaign every year,” said Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche, Managing Directors of LEG, at the handover. “It has become a welcome tradition to spread joy with this donation shortly before Christmas, now for the 13th time.”
Packed into countless boxes, cartons and bags, the useful goods found their way to Thomasstrasse in Erfurt: On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Anke Kalb, LEG's Head of Personnel and Skilled Workforce Management, and LEG employee Simone Otto presented the donation to Sonja Tragboth, Head of Child and Youth Welfare at the AWO State Association, and to Maria Böwe, full-time employee at the department store.
