ERFURT – It has become a lovely tradition, and this year the employees of LEG Thüringen celebrated their twelfth donation drive for the Bummi department store on Thomasstrasse in Erfurt. The store is run by AWO Alten-, Jugend- und Sozialhilfe (AJS) gGmbH.
A large number of books, toys, and children's clothing were collected. "There were also some unusual gifts, such as a doll's kitchen, a children's workbench, school bags, and a children's rug," said Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche, managing directors of LEG. "We are delighted that since 2012, our staff has been contributing these wonderful gifts during Advent to bring joy to children from low-income families during the holidays!"
Packed into countless boxes and cartons, the useful goods made their way to Thomasstraße in Erfurt: On Thursday, November 30, 2023, Anke Kalb, Head of Personnel and Skilled Workforce Management at LEG, presented the donation to Sonja Tragboth, Head of Child and Youth Services at the AWO State Association. At the Bummi department store, low-income parents can purchase toys and clothing for their children at affordable prices. For many, this is the only way to surprise their loved ones with a nice gift under the Christmas tree.
