ERFURT – Europe's largest real estate trade fair, EXPO REAL, is once again celebrating a new exhibitor record when it opens its doors for three days on Monday, October 8, 2018. More than 2,050 exhibitors from around 40 countries will be presenting themselves in Munich, including the state of Thuringia as an attractive real estate and investment location. A total of 19 companies, districts, institutions, and initiatives from the Free State will be represented under the umbrella of the Thuringian joint stand in Hall C1, Stand 124. With graphic elements and informational materials, this year's stand highlights the "100 Years of Bauhaus" anniversary, which will be celebrated next year and which economic development agencies and exhibitors intend to use for their communication with entrepreneurs, investors, and tourists. "A key focus of our activities in Munich is reaching out to investors in the hotel and resort sectors," explains Valentina Kerst, State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society. “At the beginning of the year, we established a dedicated hospitality acquisition team at LEG, which focuses on approaching and attracting relevant companies. EXPO REAL offers an excellent opportunity to engage with key decision-makers in the industry.” This will take place on the first day of the trade fair, when Valentina Kerst, together with LEG Managing Director Sabine Wosche, will visit various representatives of the sector during a tour of the exhibition. Another focus of the Thuringian presentation is the ICE City Erfurt urban development project. The approximately 30 hectares of land, located in the immediate vicinity of the future ICE hub, will offer attractive investment opportunities for investors and companies from around the world. Ground was broken this summer for the first “building block” of the new district: The May Group from Itzehoe is constructing the “prizeotel Erfurt-City” here, an economy design hotel that impresses with its creative use of color and form as well as user-friendly amenities and will open at the end of 2019. “The hotel project marked the visible start of investment activity in the ICE City, and with a current expression of interest process, we are tackling the next project,” says Sabine Wosche. “We are approaching investors for the construction of the first of two high-rise buildings on Stauffenbergallee – Tower West is intended to offer space for offices, conferences, and retail.” The Free State of Thuringia’s trade fair appearance is being organized by the Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs and LEG Thüringen. The traditional Thuringia event will take place at the joint stand on Tuesday, October 9, starting at 6:30 p.m.
