The East Thuringian company ILB Industrielackierung Biedermann GmbH has been recognized as the newest member of the Thuringian Hidden Champions campaign. With this campaign, the Free State of Thuringia and its state development agency (LEG Thüringen) honor global market and technology leaders based in the region. ILB can now call itself one of these "champions." Representatives from LEG Thüringen visited the company headquarters in Unterwellenborn today, Wednesday, April 23, to present the certificate of appointment. According to the company, it is an industrial coating specialist offering customers a wide range of solutions. ILB's key strengths in the markets are wet painting and powder coating. The company supplies customers worldwide with its powder-coated aluminum membranes for parking assistance sensors in the automotive industry.
The product portfolio is broadly diversified. It includes, among other things, high-quality coated surfaces for medical technology, the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, steel and metal construction, and many other sectors. ILB also offers additional processing steps, including component blasting, assembly and packaging, screen printing, and logistics. The company's history dates back to 1991; ILB currently employs around 100 people and generates annual sales of approximately €15 million.
The company joins a group of nearly 100 outstanding companies that together employ more than 14,000 people and generate around 8 billion euros in revenue. Among them are internationally renowned corporations such as Carl Zeiss and Jenoptik, as well as hidden champions like Häcker Automation and Askion.
