Better work-life balance for caregivers: Workshop in Erfurt refreshes knowledge

Event organized by the Thuringian Agency for Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF) / Care navigators learn a lot of interesting information and have the opportunity to exchange ideas

ERFURT – Due to demographic changes, the number of employees caring for family members is increasing – making it all the more important for Thuringian companies, especially in times of skilled labor shortages, to implement measures to reconcile work and caregiving. Invaluable support in this regard is provided by company caregiving mentors, employees who offer information and assistance to their colleagues in family caregiving situations. The Thuringian Agency for Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF) regularly conducts courses to train caregiving mentors, and it is holding a refresher workshop on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the COMCENTER Brühl, Mainzerhofstraße 12 in Erfurt. The workshop will focus on a presentation by Dr. Jan Steinhaußen, Managing Director of the Thuringian State Senior Citizens' Council, on the topic of "Advance Healthcare Directives and Planning for the Elderly.".

“The goal of achieving a good work-life balance for both employees and employers presents many challenges, and there are constantly new developments in this field, including new legal regulations,” says Sabine Wosche, Managing Director of LEG Thüringen, where ThAFF is located. “Against this backdrop, a refresher course on this topic is useful, especially since the workshop also offers ample opportunity for exchange.”

background

The Thuringian Agency for Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF) is located within LEG Thüringen and was founded in 2011. Commissioned by the Thuringian Ministry of Labor, its primary goals are twofold: firstly, to help Thuringian companies meet their growing demand for skilled workers, and secondly, to support young people entering the workforce, as well as commuters and potential returnees, in (re)entering the workforce in Thuringia. To this end, ThAFF promotes Thuringia as an employment location, advises its target groups, and informs them about job opportunities in the Free State (for example, through commuter days). With its own company contact fairs – "academix" for young people and "comeback" for commuters and returnees – it connects companies with (future) skilled workers. ThAFF is also actively involved in various networks and supports labor market stakeholders at events. ThAFF is funded by the Free State of Thuringia.

All media professionals are cordially invited to attend the event. Prior registration is not required.
