Analytik Jena's expansion creates the basis for further growth

A clear commitment to Thuringia: Analytik Jena GmbH+Co. KG is constructing a new building at its long-standing production site in Ilmenau (southern Thuringia). This new facility will house the development and production of measuring instruments and sample handling systems for sum parameter and elemental analysis. The company is investing over €30 million and, with this expansion, is creating the potential for up to 80 new jobs in the coming years. Analytik Jena develops and produces analytical systems and measurement technology for chemical analysis and life science solutions. The company has a presence in more than 100 countries. Its headquarters are in Jena, Thuringia, where Analytik Jena GmbH+Co. KG was founded in 1990; since 2014, it has been part of the Swiss Endress+Hauser Group.

The investment is taking place in the "Ehrenberg-Ost" industrial park, which is being successfully developed and marketed by LEG Thüringen . On a footprint the size of a football field, the new building will provide space for modern workplaces in development, production, logistics, laboratories, and offices. "We are pleased to be able to achieve several key objectives with this new building," says Bertram Eichhorn, VP Operations and Head of Analytics Jena Ilmenau, who is also leading the new construction project. "We are creating space for further growth and the opportunity to consolidate our two Ilmenau locations under one roof." The company reports that it benefits from the conditions at the rapidly growing "Ehrenberg-Ost" site. For example, the site's supply of local district heating from biogas ensures ideal conditions for an excellent CO2 footprint. Furthermore, the new building features a sustainable design with photovoltaic panels and a green roof. For the company's employees, the investment offers enhanced, modern working conditions. “The new building will allow us to create an innovative and attractive working environment, within walking distance of the Ilmenau University of Technology,” adds Grit Petzholdt-Gühne, VP Human Resources.
