The delegation of 20 participants visited Seattle, one of the world's leading clusters for the aerospace industry. As the headquarters of Amazon, as well as home to numerous other high-tech IT and digital companies and promising startups, Seattle proved to be an extremely attractive location for this economic and technological sector. The trip also offered many opportunities to connect with Thuringia's strengths, particularly in the areas of quantum technology, artificial intelligence, life sciences, and biotechnology. With outstanding speakers, the investor seminar, attended by 40 participants, was able to showcase Thuringia as a business location in the best possible light. The same applies to Vancouver, which also boasts strong positions in information and communication technology. Furthermore, the Canadian metropolis impresses with its innovative focus on sustainability and renewable energies, ranking among the top ten cleantech clusters worldwide. Here, too, visits to companies and research institutions, as well as exchanges with market players, opened up exciting opportunities for lucrative business deals and collaborations. (hw)
