ERFURT – Exercise is good for you – and you can do a lot of good with exercise! To mark its 30th anniversary, LEG organized an internal exercise challenge for its employees in the spring, with one euro donated for every kilometer covered. A variety of sports could be participated in, and the distances covered were then converted into kilometers. In the end, 5,000 euros were raised, which were distributed among three charitable initiatives today, Tuesday, July 19, 2022. "A company anniversary is a great opportunity to strengthen team spirit and do good at the same time," explained Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche, Managing Directors of LEG. "We are delighted that our staff participated so enthusiastically in the anniversary campaign and that we can support people who are committed to helping others with our donation!"

The donations were presented by representatives of the three most successful teams: Nicole Spading, Cassandra Suckert, and Holger Wiemers. Items used in the presentation symbolized the social work of the recipients. The donations went to:

  • The Bunten Schafe e. V. (Colorful Sheep Association), an organization that works together with Lebenshilfe Erfurt (a disability support organization) to provide healthy snacks for children from socially disadvantaged families, was represented at the handover by Melanie Thurm and Stefan Reichert. The symbolic check was presented in one of several lunchboxes.
  • Antje Deutschendorf accepted the symbolic check and a flowerpot with “soul stones” from Erfurter Seelensteine e. V., an association that offers a point of contact for children of mentally ill parents as well as for the parents themselves
  • Streetwork Erfurt (Erfurt Youth Welfare Office), a youth social work service, offers on-site support, care, and activation – including the provision of furnished emergency accommodation. Christin Garlik (Youth Welfare Office), Lara Netsch, and Susann Langner (street workers) were present on behalf of Streetwork Erfurt; a mirror displaying the contents of the donated checks was used.
