50 companies and associations are presenting themselves at the comeback job fair in Erfurt

The 9th edition of the event will take place "live" on-site for the first time / In-person trade fair on September 24th at the COMCENTER Brühl / Job opportunities for commuters and those interested in returning to the area

ERFURT – Personal, face-to-face Contact is crucial, especially during initial discussions between interested professionals and potential employers. Therefore, everyone involved is looking forward to the 9th edition of "comeback – the Thuringian Job Fair for Commuters and Those Interested in Returning to Thuringia." It will take place on Saturday, September 24th, for the first time in three years, in person at the COMCENTER Brühl in Erfurt, Mainzerhofstraße 10; the 2021 event was a digital affair. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 50 exhibitors – all companies, associations, and industry networks based in Thuringia – will present their job openings, apprenticeships, and internships. The event is organized by the Thuringian Agency for Skilled Worker Recruitment (ThAFF), which is part of the LEG (Thuringian Development Corporation).

“If we want to address the foreseeable shortage of skilled workers in the coming years, we must seize every opportunity. The comeback job fair offers those willing to return to Thuringia and commuters a fantastic opportunity to discover new and innovative companies in the region and to talk to potential employers. The format has established itself as a key event over the past ten years, so I am all the more pleased that the fair can take place in person again this year,” said Heike Werner, Thuringian Minister of Labor and patron of comeback.

“Ten years ago, we held the first comeback event in Erfurt. What was true then is even more true today: Thuringian companies urgently need skilled workers if they want to continue operating successfully and growing in the market,” explains LEG Managing Director Sabine Wosche in the run-up to the fair. “Commuters and those interested in returning to Thuringia are among the skilled workers who are definitely worth reaching out to, and at the same time, many of these people want to return to the local job market. Our comeback event offers the ideal platform where both sides can get to know each other!” According to the Federal Employment Agency, around 125,000 Thuringians currently commute to work in other German states, including over 33,000 to Bavaria, over 21,000 to Hesse, and over 22,000 to Saxony.

Companies from all sectors have announced their participation in the trade fair, including Bauerfeind AG, Contemporary Amperex Technology Thuringia GmbH (CATT/CATL), EPC Engineering & Technologies GmbH, Sparkasse Mittelthüringen, the IT service provider Ibykus, and N3 Engine Overhaul Services GmbH & Co. KG, a company specializing in aircraft engine maintenance. The 50 exhibitors currently have 1,080 job postings listed on the Thuringian job portal of ThAFF.

At the job fair, visitors can have professional application photos taken free of charge. The ThAFF team will also be happy to review visitors' application materials and offer valuable tips during a comprehensive application portfolio check. Admission to the fair is free.

The Thuringian Agency for Skilled Workers Recruitment (ThAFF) has been located at the Thuringian State Development Corporation (LEG Thüringen) since 2011 and is funded by the Free State of Thuringia.

All media professionals are cordially invited to visit the job fair comeback on September 24, 2022 from 10 am to 3 pm at the COMCENTER Brühl in Erfurt, Mainzerhofstr. 10.
