ERFURT – Supporting 1,700 new business establishments and expansion investments by investors and companies, constructing 1,600 apartments at 40 locations, developing 4,000 building plots, developing over 3,000 hectares of industrial land, and organizing nearly 50 different trade fair appearances at home and abroad – these are excerpts from LEG Thüringen 's activity report, looking back on three decades of the company's work on behalf of the state government. And just in time for its anniversary, LEG is launching its redesigned website: With a modern structure and user-friendly tools, it helps customers and partners quickly find relevant offers and content. In addition to services and useful information, the anniversary celebration features many exciting visual and audio presentations about 30 years of state development, as well as insights into future challenges and solutions – always with a focus on promoting growth, prosperity, and quality of life in the Free State of Thuringia. The new website is available at [website address missing in original text] www.leg-thueringen.de as well as www.leg-thueringen.de/30

“On its anniversary, LEG can truly look back on countless projects serving the Free State of Thuringia, its citizens, and businesses,” emphasized Minister of Economic Affairs Wolfgang Tiefensee. “Founded with just one employee, the state-owned company is today a competent partner in all matters of economic development and real estate management for everyone who invests, works, and lives in Thuringia. In its 30 years of existence, it has accompanied numerous milestones in regional development, be it the development of Thuringia’s largest industrial park, “Erfurter Kreuz,” and the establishment of major companies there, urban development in Zeulenroda-Triebes, or delegation and business trips to important trading regions in Thuringia. I thank Managing Directors Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche, as well as the entire team, for this many years of successful work.”

“Making valuable contributions to the robust development of Thuringia as a business, technology, and residential location will continue to be our top priority,” say Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche, Managing Directors of LEG. “We owe the achievements of the past decades to our competent and dedicated employees. Continuing education, work-life balance, modern working time models, and mobile working – all of these will remain central to our efforts to foster expertise and motivation. We have laid the groundwork to continue working successfully for the benefit of Thuringia!”

Founded in May 1992, LEG and its subsidiaries have been active throughout Thuringia ever since, serving citizens, businesses, local authorities, homeowners, and skilled workers. Economic development, site development, real estate management, and urban and regional development are the core tasks that have been fulfilled since the 1990s. Over the years, support in areas such as internationalization, digitalization, climate protection and green technology, skilled worker recruitment, and technology and cluster management has been added. "Constant adaptation to new challenges is part of our problem-solving expertise," say Andreas Krey and Sabine Wosche. "We are already working on a wide range of future-oriented topics, from site development and business relocation support under modern conditions, to internationalization, cluster management, and skilled worker recruitment for a Thuringian economy in turbulent times, to complex tasks in urban and regional development and real estate management – this includes forward-looking concepts such as smart cities as well as the important revitalization of rural areas, new forms of regional cooperation, and the challenges of sustainable construction."

In line with its expanded responsibilities and new future objectives, the new LEG website offers further optimized content and structure. Key online tools are directly accessible – this includes popular applications such as the Thuringian solar calculator, as well as access to the industrial and commercial property database with current, comprehensive information on companies and locations throughout the state. In total, there are 26 targeted services available for citizens, business representatives, municipal stakeholders, and public institutions. LEG also presents itself to skilled workers, trainees, and interns as a modern employer. To get to know LEG better, a visit to the anniversary page is definitely worthwhile: clips with (moving) images and text showcase 30 defining projects from the past 30 years, "success stories" outline milestones in the company's development, and employees from various departments provide insights into their work. Facts and figures are also included, as well as an "LEG playlist" featuring musical highlights from 30 years of LEG and music history. Regional development, as is becoming clear, has many facets – both in the past three decades and certainly in the future.
