Industrial and business park (Maxhütte Unterwellenborn)

Description

For more than 140 years, Unterwellenborn has been a traditional site for iron and steel production in Germany. It has been transformed into a modern industrial and business park. A new road network was created with the federal highway B 281, and the supply and disposal systems (gas, electricity, telecommunications, water/wastewater) were reorganized over approximately 286 hectares.

The industrial and business park is located in East Thuringia, southeast of the city triangle of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt-Bad Blankenburg. The distance to the city center of the district town of Saalfeld is 6 km.
