Industrial and commercial park (Maxhütte Unterwellenborn)

Description

For more than 140 years, Unterwellenborn has been a traditional site of iron and steel production in Germany. It has been transformed into a modern industrial and commercial park. This involved the creation of a new road network, including the B281 federal highway, and the reorganization of utilities (gas, electricity, telecommunications, water/wastewater) across approximately 286 hectares.

Position

The industrial and commercial park is located in eastern Thuringia, southeast of the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt-Bad Blankenburg triangle. It is 6 km from the city center of Saalfeld, the district capital.
